Fundraising ideas for schools
There are lots of fun ways that you and your school can help to raise money for St Columba's Hospice - you could hold a pancake day, a jumble sale, a fancy dress party, or even a lunchtime disco! Here are some of our ideas that you might find useful, but feel free to do something completely different to raise money for St Columba's Hospice as well.

Balloons in a car
Imagine how many balloons you could fit into a car. Not sure? Well, why not find out? All you need is a car, a whole lot of balloons and someone to blow them up! Once the car is as full of balloons as it can be charge everyone 50p or one Pound to make a guess and the winner is the person who guesses right!
Karaoke/X-Factor
Why not organise a talent contest just like on the TV? Anyone can enter and show off their singing, dancing, gymnastic or joke telling skills! Maybe even the teachers would like to try. Sell tickets to your parents and friends so that they can watch you become the 'Next Big Thing'!
Balloon Duck Race
How fast can you run with a balloon between your knees? Why not plan a race and find out who is the fastest? Maybe you could find out who the fastest teacher or parent is too. But be careful... If the balloon pops you have to start all over again!
Read-a-Thon
What is the longest time you have ever sat and read a book for? 1 hour, 2 hours or even a whole afternoon? Why not get your parents and friends to sponsor you to read for as long as you possibly can. So get out all your Harry Potters, Daisy Meadows or Horrid Henry's and start practicing!
Own-Clothes-Day
Its school but without uniforms! Ask your teachers to organise a day when you can come into school wearing whatever you want and all you have to pay is £1. Maybe you could make it more fun by asking everyone to wear the same colour clothes, funny hats or even fancy dress! I wonder what the teachers will wear?
Balloon Pop
Imagine there are lots of balloons but only one has a winning ticket inside! How are you going to find out which one has the prize? That's right, pay for a turn and pick a balloon and then... POP. If you don't win the first time then keep trying until the winning ticket is found!
Bring and Buy Sale
Is your toy cupboard full? Is there no more room under your bed? Then why not make some room for all the Christmas and Birthday presents you are going to get by donating some of your old toys and games? Why not ask if your parents have anything spare that they don't want anymore? Bring them all in and make your own charity shop!
