St Columba’s Hospice and PSE Classes
Speakers help enrich the curriculum with talks on St Columba's Hospice and the hospice movement
Sheila Mann and Linsay Given Black gave a series of talks recently to S3 Personal and Social Education classes at both Boroughmuir and Trinity Academy secondary schools.
The pupils heard about the development of the hospice movement, how St Columba's started, the work that it does now and our plans for the future to meet the needs of modern palliative care. Most hadn't previously had much understanding of what a hospice is or does and many questions were asked.
The talks were very well received and we are hopeful that other schools will take up the offer of similar talks.
