Charity cupcake treat for St Columba's Hospice
Monday, 5 August 2011
St Columba's Hospice is delighted to announce that it has been chosen as the official charity of the month for Bibi's Bakery, a cupcake and cake shop on Edinburgh's Hanover Street.
The store will now be launching a new cupcake flavour in the Hospice's honour - a chocolate and caramel concoction that is set to delight sweet-toothed customers. For each cupcake sold, 25p will be donated to St Columba's Hospice. The store will also be helping to raise awareness of the Hospice throughout the month.
The initiative is part of Bibi's Bakery's commitment to helping the local community. Each month, the store selects a local charity to support after an application process.
Martin Lawlor, Campaign Fundraising manager from St Columba's Hospice said:
"We're delighted to be chosen as the local charity for Bibi's Bakery for August. The Bibi's Bakery team say that charity and cakes go hand in hand, and it's certainly been true for St Columba's Hospice. We hope that lots of people will come and try the new chocolate and caramel cupcake, and with 25p donated to St Columba's Hospice, it's a great excuse to treat yourself. We look forward to working with the Bibi's Bakery team and we're very grateful to have been chosen."
The partnership will help raise funds for the Hospice's Blue Dove Campaign to rebuild its premises. St Columba's Hospice is creating a brand new, state-of-the-art Hospice that will care for more than 40,000 patients and their families over the next 40 years.
