Toast the Bard for St Columba's Hospice
Tuesday, 11 January 2011
There's just 10 days to go until hundreds of people descend on the Edinburgh Corn Exchange for one of the biggest Burns Suppers in Scotland - the St Columba's Hospice Burns Supper and Ceilidh on Friday 21 January 2011. There are only a few tables and tickets still available, and the Hospice is encouraging people to book soon so they don't miss out.
The evening will be hosted by Margo Macdonald MSP, with assistance from James Macsween of the famous Macsween Haggis business, who will be delivering the official 'Address to the Haggis'.
Guests will be treated to a delicious Burns Night dinner, a lively ceilidh by the Scott Leslie Ceilidh Band, Robert Burns' songs by Wendy Carle Taylor, traditional Burns Supper toasts, games, a tombola and a raffle draw.
Mairi Rosko, Senior Fundraising Manager at St Columba's Hospice said:
"Our Burns Supper is not only a great night of hearty Scottish food, ceilidh dancing, traditional music and lively Burns banter, but it is also one of the most important nights of the year for St Columba's Hospice. We need to raise £20,000 to help us provide free, specialist palliative care for more than 1,000 patients this year."
Tickets are £46.00 per person and can be purchased individually or for tables of 10. To book your tickets contact the fundraising team at St Columba's Hospice on 0131 551 1381 or email fund@stcolumbashospice.org.uk
