Four legged fundraiser for Edinburgh's four legged friends
Tuesday, 27 April 2010
Four legged friends from across the Lothians will soon be gathering at Inverleith Park for one of the best days out in the doggy calendar: Bark in the Park.
The annual fundraiser, held in aid of St Columba's Hospice, will see dogs and their owners complete a 1 mile course around the park on Sunday 9 May from 10am.
Starbucks will be at the event handing out tea and coffee to ensure that all entrants are suitably refreshed before embarking on their turn around the park. Dogs will enjoy a wee treat too as each participant will receive a goody bag on completion of their circuit.
Maggie Grieve, Fundraiser at St Columba's Hospice said:
"Bark in the Park is a great day out for families and dog owners, and lots of fun for dogs too! It is great to see dogs of all shapes and sizes with their St Columba's Hospice bandanas tied around their necks. We're inviting dog owners to give their best friends a real treat by bringing them along to Bark in the Park on Sunday 9 May, while at the same time raising money for a fantastic cause."
Entry costs just £5 per dog and St Columba's requests that all entrants try to raise at least £20 sponsorship. Thanks to the sponsors of the event, A1 Pets, Just Dogs and Batchelor, Davidson and Watson Veterinary Surgeons, absolutely all money raised will go straight to the Hospice.
Registration starts from 9.30am on Sunday 9 May at Inverleith Park. Entrants can walk as individuals between 10:00am and 12 noon and the group walk will start at 11:30am. To enter, contact Maggie on 0131 551 1381 or email fund@stcolumbashospice.org.uk
