Leaving a legacy to St Columba's Hospice

Time is of the essence when you're diagnosed with advanced progressive illness. At St Columba's Hospice, we make that time, no matter how long or short, precious and meaningful.

We know how valuable time is, so our community palliative care nurses don't limit theirs. Visiting patients at home, they stay as long as they're needed, answering questions, talking about options, listening to and supporting patients through the difficult times they face.

At our Day Hospice, we take things one day at a time. It's up to our patients when and if they come. There are relaxation and treatment sessions, and time to talk through worries and concerns. If a patient wants space, that's what we give them - helping them to take control of their lives and find a precious moment of peace.

In our in-patient unit, we make every minute count. We stabilise symptoms, and patients often return to the comfort of home and loved ones. Others remain in the Hospice, receiving care from a team of professional and highly skilled clinicians and nurses, who ensure that every minute counts.
