About Light a Light
Light a Light on our Tree of Remembrance and help St Columba's Hospice care for over 1,000 patients and families next year
Monday 5 December 2011
Charlotte Square Gardens, Edinburgh
Gates open at 5.30pm, the lights will be switched on at 6.30pm
The festive season is a time of great joy, but it can also be a sad time when we remember the family and friends who are unable to be with us.
At St Columba's Hospice, we have a special way of remembering loved ones. We dedicate a light in the memory on our Tree of Remembrance in Charlotte Square Gardens, then we come together on the first Monday in December to light the tree, celebrate lives and enjoy the warmth of being part of the St Columba's Hospice family.
When you Light a Light on our tree, you enable us to care for the people of Edinburgh and the Lothians when they need it most.
How Light a Light works
When you dedicate a light on the Tree of Remembrance, we will send you a Light a Light Christmas Card inscribed with the name of your loved one(s) and with space to add your own special message. Please note we must receive your dedication by 30 November to be able to return your card in time for the tree lighting ceremony.
We invite you to then join us at our tree lighting ceremony on Monday 5th December 2011 in Charlotte Square Gardens. The gates will open at 5.30pm and the lights will be switched on in a special ceremony by Sir Tom Farmer at 6.30pm. There will also be community carol singing.
